ESPN Summer X Games 13 incorporated Vision III Imaging, Inc.’s, Parallax Scanning v3 technology for the second year in a row for the Skateboard Vert, BMX Park and BMX Vert competitions. The v3 technology was integrated seamlessly into telecast of Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s events.
The unique capabilities of the v3 lenses allowed ESPN to enhance its 90 fps slow motion footage. The SD footage was shot using the Angenieux 26x7.8 HD zoom lens equipped with a v3 AX2 parallax scanning unit on the Thomson LDK 23 MKII camera.
The feedback from CBS executives was extremely positive, with future productions in the works.
